Tasting notes Elvis Presley - The King of Rock n` Roll Cabernet Sauvignon

This one comes straight from the top of the rock wine chart. Man, I won`t lie, this wine represents the highest quality among the rock wines I`ve tasted so far, probably meets with the expectations of a fussy wine snob as well. Nice, rounded and deep, full body comes together with a balanced, complex, fruit-driven taste. Not an elegant wine but very friendly and approachable, easy to drink on its own. I`m not sure if it goes well with the King`s favourite food, the infamous peanut butter and banana sandwich but it`s worth a try with some fine BBQ pork ribs.

The Cabernet Sauvignon is the world`s most widely recognized grape variety, no wonder it`s bonded together with the most successful artist/musician/singer in history. An iconic wine meets an iconic person. It recalls the finest elements of Elvis Presley`s music – a bit of rockabilly, country music, rock n` roll and rhythm and blues presented with a considerably high volume of alcohol. At this point you have to be careful as the bursting fruitiness covers the real nature of the beast.

This wine is catchy and smooth just like the “Love Me Tender” filled with blackcurrant, black pepper, liquorice and tobacco notes plus a touch of wood. It has been a perfect choice to give a kick to our late-afternoon garden party, strictly opened after sunset just to get into the right mood.

Elvis is still alive and won`t ever go out of fashion. This wine delivers the freshness and trendiness of his music on a different level. Recommended not only for the fans but the regular wine drinkers who normally don`t have trust in celebrity wines. This wine might be the odd-one-out which can make your day.
